Gastrointestinal Cancers Policy and Evaluation Stream
The Daffodil Centre
Dr Jie-Bin Lew is a researcher of Gastrointestinal Cancers Group. Her research focuses on optimising colorectal cancer screening subgroup in Australia and other countries. Jie-Bin led the development of a comprehensive microsimulation model of colorectal cancer natural history and screening in Australia (Policy1-Bowel). This model has been applied to several evaluations on important bowel cancer screening policy questions in Australia. Findings from these evaluations were used to support colorectal cancer screening guidelines recommendations and government funding decision in Australia. She has been awarded the Investigator Grant by National Health and Medical Research Council in 2020 to evaluate colorectal cancer screening approaches in high-income countries and low-and-middle income countries.
