I obtained a BMedSci(Hons) and DipInnovMan from the University of New South Wales. I completed a PhD at the Westmead Millennium Institute (Western Clinical School, University of Sydney) in the area of molecular biology and infectious diseases, with a particular focus on human cytomegalovirus latent infection. I am currently a Senior Research Fellow in the Product Development research group at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.

My current research interests are in the area of blood transfusion and immunology, and the translation of research projects into changed business practices at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. The research conducted at Lifeblood aims to improve the donation experience and keep our donors happy and healthy, to explore ways to process blood more efficiently or to develop novel blood products, to identify current and emerging infectious risks, and to investigate how blood products are used so that we can provide the correct product for every patient.
