Jonathan dual trained in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine in the UK before coming to Australia. He is now a Senior Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Jonathan has a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and is a trained simulation instructor. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, and regularly teaches medical students.
He co-coordinates the education program at the Royal North Shore Hospital Intensive Care Unit and runs the in-situ simulation program. His special interests include airway management and human factors training. He runs a highly popular inter professional airway course for for critical care clinicians - the Critical Care Airway Management Course.
He is also the Co-Director of the Sydney Short Course in Intensive Care Medicine - a preparatory course for the Second Part Examination of the Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine.
