Dr Julie Ayre

Dr Julie Ayre is a behavioural scientist with a focus in health literacy, behaviour change, and digital health. Her PhD (accepted June 2020) explored how health literacy impacts on behaviour change strategies, and how diabetes self-management apps in primary care settings could better support people with low health literacy.

She currently leads the development of an online health literacy editor to assist health professionals in developing easy-to-understand health materials. She has recently completed a project involving over 700 people who speak a language other than English at home in Greater Western Sydney, to explore COVID-19 knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours.
