Dr Katrina Blyth

Katrina's clinical, teaching and research focus is in swallowing, speech and voice management with particular interest in rehabilitation for Head & Neck Cancer survivors. She completed a PhD in 2015 investigating the effectiveness of tongue ultrasound biofeedback in speech and swallowing therapy.

Katrina co-ordinates and teaches across two Masters in Speech Pathology (MSLP) units of study - Voice & Resonance and Feeding & Swallowing Across the Lifespan. She's currently supervising higher degree and honours research projects as well as clinical supervision in the SPEECH Clinic.

Katrina co-edits the Journal of Clinical Practice in Speech-Language Pathology (JCPSLP). She contributes to evidence-based practice as the academic lead for HNC NSW EBP Group (2017-2022) and as a reviewer of Speech Pathology Australia's Laryngectomy Clinical Guidelines (2023).

Katrina is trained and has performed SLP-led nasendoscopy for fibre-optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) as well as interpreting videofluroscopic swallow assessments.
