Majdi Sabahelzain (Dafallah) is a Research Fellow at the School of Public Health. He is a public health researcher. He obtaind his Ph.D. from the Care and Public Health Research Institute (CAPHRI) at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He completed bachelor's and master's degrees in pharmacy and public health in Sudan. He received various training in vaccinology, including epidemiological evaluation of vaccines at LSHTM, and advanced vaccinology courses from Wits University in South Africa and the University of Geneva.

Majdi's career in public health began in Sudan, where he demonstrated his leadership and expertise as a lecturer, researcher, and assistant professor at Ahfad University for Women (AUW). His competence was further highlighted during his tenure, where he held several senior positions, including head of the Public Health Unit for Training and Research and director of the Nutrition and Health Center for Training and Research at AUW. In 2022, he served as a national consultant on social and behavioural change for UNICEF in Sudan, where he co-led the development of the National Strategy for Risk Communication and Community Engagement. He also served as a member of different National and subnational committees at the Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan, including the COVID-19 vaccine communication and demand generation and the Sudan Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance.
