Maryam Roudbary is PhD in Medical Mycology. She has been Associate professor at Iran University of Medical Sciences (2015-2022) and involved with numerous national and international Research projects, supervisor of Master and PhD students’ thesis, epidemiological studies, and clinical sampling projects over 8 years. Throughout her academic journey, she has made significant contributions as a leader to mycology research and development with a strong track record of designing and leading diverse projects in fungal infection. She joined Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute as a research affiliated University of Sydney and employed as a staff of NSW Health and Research and education Network (Senior Researcher in Mycology) in 2023. Her current research interest is mostly searching new antifungal agents against drug -resistant fungi (yeast and moulds) as alternative therapeutic options to overcome drug resistance issue particularly those in line with 2022 Fungal Priority Pathogen List ranked by WHO and understanding the mechanism of antifungal resistance. She is an editor of several mycology and microbiology Journals. In 2022 she collaborated as Editor and author of Fungal pathogens book. With a commitment to One Health AMR, she aims to address critical challenges and continue impactful research in Mycology field.
