Dr Matthew Palmer

Matthew is a post doctoral research fellow with the Cervical Cancer and HPV Stream at the Daffodil Centre, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health policy and cervical cancer prevention in the Western Pacific region. His PhD was conducted in Japan jointly with the University of Melbourne, Melbourne School of Popuation and Global Health, Sexual Health Unit, and the National Cancer Center, Instute of Cancer Control in Japan delivering outcomes to inform decision making for cervical screening screening and vaccination policies.

He has held positions locally and across the Western Pacific region with government and non-governement sectors including The WHO Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO), and The Ministry of Health in Tonga. In addition to his research activities, Matthew continues to support work within the Western Pacific region to translate research into evidence for decision making.

Sexual & reproductive health policy, cervical cancer prevention, health systems evaluation, epidemiology, & health economic evaluations for decision making.
