Mrs Megan Thorn

Mrs Megan Thorn is Registered Nurse and Midwife who has developed clinical skills across the acute and aged care sector, taking on roles in leadership and education, with specific focus on clinical education, professional practice and professional identity. Megan holds a strong passion for wellbeing and the impact on workforce within the nursing and midwifery professions.

She is a member of the Australian College of Nursing, The Australian College of Midwives, a member of Xi Omicron Sigma Theta Tam - Sigma Nursing, a member of Climate Action Nurses in Australia, a member of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. Megan was awarded a scholarship in 2024 in collaboration with the University of Canberra and Canberra Health Services which has led to her undertaking a PhD program in which she is currently enrolled. Megan is examining wellbeing across the Canberra Health services as part of her PhD program and body of research.

Megan is an Early Career researcher, though she has worked in academia for approximately 11 years, focusing her academic contributions to professional experience courses as well as the simulated learning environment within undergraduate nursing and undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery programs.
