Biographical details

Dr Ramin Farahani is a Lecturer at University of Sydney who investigates the role of temporal dimension in adaptiblity of biological systems. Micro-RNAs, in particular, are used as biological tools that access the temporal dimension and communicate novel adaptive signatures. His research currently focuses on the following areas:

Research interests

Dr Farahani’s current research is focused on molecular mechanisms underpinning the adaptive capacity of biological systems with particular emphasis on the role of non-coding DNA and microRNAs. To approach the problem, a combined evo-devo (evolutionary developmental biology) is applied in neurosensory structures.
