Associate Professor Serigne Lo

A/Prof Lo is a Senior Biostatistician with 15+ years of experience in medical research. He is based at the Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) where he leads the Research & Biostatistics Group. Prior to joining MIA, A/Prof Lo has worked as Senior Biostatistician at the George Institute for Global Health in Sydney for 8 years. Between 2000 and 2006 A/Prof Lo worked as Teaching & Research assistant at the Department of Econometrics - The University of Geneva (Switzerland).

A/Prof Lo completed a Master of Research and a PhD in Econometrics/Statistics in 2002 and 2006 respectively at the University of Geneva. Following his PhD thesis, he was awarded a Swiss National Foundation Fellowship – a Postdoctoral scholarship for prospective researcher.

He received the 2017 NSW Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Translational Cancer Research.
