Biographical details

Troy J Cross is a Senior Lecturer of Exercise and Sport Science (ESS), the Deputy Director of the Thermal Ergonomic Laboratory, and Theme Leader for Sport, Physical Activity and Occupational Health within the Heat and Health Research Centre, in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney. His primary research area focuses on the mechanics and energetics of respiratory muscles during exercise in health and disease. An emerging area of Dr Cross' research surrounds the respiratory consequences of heat stress in the context of extreme weather events, such as bushfires and heatwaves.
