Ms Vanessa Gysbers
School of Molecular Bioscience
Vanessa Gysbers was a Lecturer in the School of Molecular Bioscience in the areas of biology and molecular biology under the guidance of current Head of School, Professor Iain Campbell.
I worked in the laboratory of Prof. Iain Campbell, with interests in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammation in the central nervous system. With a background in gene therapy research, I specialise in methods of gene delivery by viral vectors. I have been investigating the role of the myeloid transcription factor PU.1.in the interferon-gamma mediated induction of the chemokine CXCL9.
Molecular Biology.
I coordinated MBLG2x71 and BMED2405, and co-coordinated MBLG1001. I am currently the curriculum development officer in Pharmacology.
I also have a strong interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning. My teaching research focuses on improving student engagement in face to face and online classes, and developing methods and training to provide more useful and efficient feedback to students.
