The Scholarship is valued at $7,500 and is tenable for one full-time semester. The Scholarship value will be paid directly towards the student’s tuition fees of the applicable semester.
Where the recipient is studying part-time, the amount awarded for each relevant semester will be 50% of the full-time rate and the Scholarship will be tenable for two part-time semesters.
You must:
1. Background
a. This Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students who are studying a Master of Health Policy and Planning at the University of Sydney.
2. Eligibility
a. The Scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission, or currently enrolled in a Master of Health Policy and Planning at the University of Sydney.
b. Applicants who are FEE-HELP deferred students are not eligible for this scholarship.
3. Selection Criteria
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
I. academic merit,
II. their application for admission to the Master of Health Policy and Planning degree,
III. a cover letter outlining the applicant’s case for the scholarship, their work experience, and their potential relative to opportunity, and
IV. a curriculum vitae.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Head of School of the School of Public Health, or their nominated delegate(s).
4. Value
a. The Scholarship is valued at $7,500 and is tenable for one full-time semester.
b. Where the recipient is studying part-time, the amount awarded for each relevant semester will be 50% of the full-time rate and the Scholarship will be tenable for two part-time semesters within the same calendar year.
c. The Scholarship value will be paid directly towards the student’s tuition fees of the applicable semester.
d. If the student’s tuition fees are less than the scholarship value for the relevant semester, the scholarship value will be equal to the student’s tuition fee.
e. Deferral or suspension of the Scholarship is not permitted. The Scholarship cannot be transferred to another University school or Faculty.
f. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
g. No other amount is payable.
5. Termination
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws, suspends or fails to enrol in their course,
II. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
III. accepts an alternative scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney, valued at $8,000 per annum or more for the same purpose as this Scholarship.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
