Associate Professor Gaby Van Galen
Gaby’s interests and expertise lay in equine internal medicine and emergency and critical care. She has a special clinical interest in critically ill patients such as horses with acute colic or diarrhea, acute neuromuscular disorders and sick neonatal foals, and the use of thoracic and abdominal ultrasonography in those patients.
Equine internal medicine and Emergency & critical care.

- Treatment and monitoring of critically ill patients, such as horses with acute colic or colitis, acute and severe neuromuscular disorders, and diseased neonates.
- Biosecurity including antimicrobial stewardship and infection monitoring.
Teaching of pregraduate students during their extramural rotations
Teaching of interns and residents in the clinical aspects of equine internal medicine.
Supervision and assessments of research projects for pre and post graduates.
Oral presentations on national and international conferences and Continuing Education events.
Special interest in teaching and supervision of residents.
