Received an offer from the University of Sydney? Congratulations! We can't wait for you to join our vibrant student community. Here's what you need to do to accept your offer and secure your place at Sydney.
If you receive a conditional offer, this means that you will be eligible to receive an unconditional/firm offer if you meet the conditions listed on the conditional offer letter. This could include:
If you receive a conditional offer, then the next step is for you to provide us with the evidence that we have requested on page 3 or 4 in your offer letter. Your application will be re-assessed once you’ve provided the required supporting documents to meet the condition(s) of your offer.
If you have applied with an agent, they can help you meet the condition(s) of your offer. You’re welcome to ask them to review your offer condition(s) together.
If you receive an unconditional offer, this will be clearly stated at the top of your offer letter. This means that your application to study at the University of Sydney has been successful.
If you have received an unconditional offer, follow the steps on this page to accept.
Log in to Sydney Student using your student ID and the password which you received with your offer letter. If you are having trouble logging in, you can reset your password or read more troubleshooting information.
You'll no longer need to use your applicant ID (which may have been used to submit/review your application). If you have applied for credit for previous study, you will need to wait until your credit application has been finalised before being able to accept your offer.
Once you've logged in to Sydney Student, select 'Applications' from the main menu, then select 'My application'.
This will take you to a summary of all the course applications which you have submitted to the University. Select your degree from the list, and check the course details are correct. Then select 'Respond to offer'.
If you are an international applicant, you will be asked to answer:
You will then be asked to pay your tuition deposit fee (including OSHC if relevant). You will be presented with the outstanding amount, and given advice on the payment options. You can pay at this stage or exit and pay later.
Applicants who need to apply for a student visa will be issued an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) once your payment has been received. Depending on the payment method used, it may take 2-10 working days for us to issue your eCoE. You will receive your eCoE via email once issued.
Depending on your course, you may have the option to defer your offer for up to one year. This means we’ll hold a place for you to enrol in your course the following semester or year.
Deferment is open to most students: coursework or research students, domestic or international though not all courses can be deferred. All applications for deferral are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
