Cultural competence and generative AI

Redefining artificial intelligence as a tool we can harness to improve our human intelligence

If you are a student and/or a staff member at the University of Sydney, we invite you to participate in a groundbreaking pilot research study that investigates how Generative AI can be used to improve cultural competence, especially in understanding race and racism.

What does the study involve?

  • You will be asked to interact with a generative AI (GAI) tool for 30-45 minutes total on the topic of race and racism.
  • You will also be asked to complete a survey prior to interacting with the GAI tool (10-15 minutes), and again immediately after (10-30 minutes).
  • You may use your personal device (a computer or a mobile phone) or a device you have access to (i.e. Library).

Once you complete the pre-survey, the post-survey, and have engaged with the GAI tool for a minimum of 30 minutes, you will be entered into a draw to win one (1) of five (5) $100 e-gift cards.
