Ms Baylie Trostian

Baylie Trostian has worked in healthcare for over 15 years. Beginning as a registered nurse in 2008 and midwife from 2014, working as both at Wollongong Hospital, and a Research Fellow in Implementation Science at the University of Sydney.

Baylie recently completed her PhD candidature at the University of Sydney in December 2024 researching evidence-based management of women with early pregnancy bleeding in the Emergency Department. Baylie was a recipient of the Skellern Family Foundation Scholarship, that provides financial assistance to an outstanding PhD scholar.

With clinical experience as an emergency nurse and midwife both nationally and internationally, Baylie has worked in diverse settings including Nepal and Guatemala. She is an early career researcher, with publications and conference presentations about education, and emergency care.

The Skellern Family Foundation established this scholarship in 2012 to provide financial assistance to a nurse or midwife undertaking their PhD and conducting research within the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney.
