Miss Matilde Petersen
Matilde has lived and was educated in Aarhus (Denmark), Sydney and Melbourne and is currently living on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. She joined the Sydney School of Public Health (SSPH) in 2019 as a Research Assistant after achieving her Master of International Public Health. She completed her MPhil in 2021 under the supervision of A/Prof Michelle Dickson on the topic of social and emotional wellbeing impacts of extreme heat, and has since worked across several research projects and academic teaching roles. Her research has focused on climate change & health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing and promoting healthcare sustainability. Matilde is currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney and is registered as a Provisional Psychologist. She aspires to continue working at the intersection between Public Health, First Nations wellbeing and Psychology to improve community mental health and wellbeing while promoting First Nations ways of knowing, being and doing.
