Measuring change in parenting programs

We are currently conducting a study called Measuring Change in Parenting Programs to examine the effectiveness of measure completion at different time points in a parenting program.

This parenting program is for parents of children aged 3 to 9 years, and it provides evidence-based strategies to manage challenging child-behaviour, promote positive parent-child interactions, and support parental teamwork. All families participating in this study will participate in an 8-10 session parenting program, provided individually by a psychologist via telehealth. Families can participate from anywhere in NSW.

All families participating in this study will complete measures about their child and family before and after the program, and again after three months. In addition, families will be randomly allocated to complete additional weekly measures before and after sessions, or not to complete these weekly measures.

This research will help us find out how often to measure progress and change in parenting programs, so we can better support parents through the program.
