Professor Jacqueline Bloomfield
Director of International Strategy
Jacqueline Bloomfield is a Professor of Nursing Education within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the UniversityofSydney.With over 20 years of experience in healthcare education,she is an academic of national and international standing with a record of substantial achievement in senior health education leadership, management, teaching and, relative to opportunity, research.
Professor Bloomfield's research background and interests focus on two major areas.
She is an active researcher in the area of health profession education and has a strong interest in Interprofessional learning (IPL). She is a member of a core interprofessional team of academics who have developed, implemented and evaluated a number of large-scale IPL initiatives with students from a broad range of health-related disciplines.In 2018 and 2019 the work of this team was recognised with Faculty Awards for Excellence.
Her second research interest is supportive care for patients with cancer. She is particularly interested in how nurses can be educated and supported to care for patients in the cancer and palliative care setting. Professor Bloomfield is a fellow in the Cancer Nursing Research Unit (CNRU).
Professor Bloomfield has extensive teaching experience in cancer, haematology and palliative care subjects as well as clinical skills, evidence-based practice and research methods.
She is Director of the Bachelor of Nursing (post registration) in Singapore and is Unit of Study coordinator for:

- SNGP3007 Inquiry & Research in Nursing
Jacqueline has supervised/ co-supervised PhD (3), Masters (3) and Honours (14) students to completion.
